METALLIC ELECTROMAGNETIC LEVEL SENSORS

Electromagnetic level sensors detect the presence of a fluid or the attainment of a predefined level by means of the interaction between a magnetic float and one or more reed switches integrated into the sensor. Thanks to their simple design, high reliability and the absence of an auxiliary power supply, they provide a proven solution for level monitoring in tanks and industrial systems.

The operating principle is based on the movement of a float containing a permanent magnet along the sensor axis. When the switching position is reached, the magnetic field actuates the reed switch, causing the electrical contact to change state.

The sensors are available with Normally Open (N.O.) or Normally Closed (N.C.) contacts and are characterized by a switching differential (hysteresis) that ensures stable switching even in the presence of fluid level fluctuations. Depending on the application, the hysteresis can be optimized through specific configurations of the magnetic system and the reed switch.
